Zong Qian (Zoey) Ong
Acupuncturist
Zoey is a graduate of the Acupuncture program from Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a Registered Acupuncturist in good standing with the CTCMPAO. She completed her undergraduate studies in Engineering and worked as a Design Engineer until ultimately deciding to pursue her calling in healing. Her passion for cultivating and restoring health started almost a decade ago. She has explored many topics related to physical rehabilitation, mental health, and philosophy/spirituality. As someone who has dealt with chronic pain, her desire is to provide care that makes a difference.
She embodies a unique blend of gentleness, attentiveness, and a passion for problem-solving. It is essential to her to establish trust and safety through active listening and effective communication. She believes in the sacredness of the body and that working together will require a certain degree of vulnerability and willingness in order to facilitate healing and real change. Her strengths lie in her intuition, sensitivity to touch and energy, as well as ability to think critically.
Zoey’s approach to her work is rooted in a commitment to continuous learning focused on the integration of both modern science (such anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and psychology) as well as the innate spiritual wisdom of our bodies. This allows her to select and integrate principles that she has learnt and apply them according to each patient’s needs, which typically combines manual therapy with acupuncture in all her treatments.
She enjoys treating musculoskeletal and nervous system conditions, chronic stress, insomnia, and mental health-related conditions. Her hope is to support and empower patients through alignment rather than focusing on the fear of diagnosis and limitations. When she is not busy working or learning, she enjoys spending her time on self-care activities, cooking, climbing, and being active outdoors.
